There are a ton of marketing companies around the world full of empty promises. But fitness marketing is confusing, so who do you trust? Where do you spend your time and money to make sure your business is successful? Here are 3 typical fitness marketing strategies that DON'T work:
The first one is that you really don't need a fancy logo or catch phrase to get your fitness marketing plan to work well for you. The simple truth is that nobody really cares what your logo looks like, nor do they stop and consider using your services simply because you have a nice-looking logo or a really great catch phrase. The reason they stop is because you can promise results. You're in the fitness industry, and that's what people want. They only care about results. Can you prove that you have given results? How about a before/after photo of a previous client? Make sure they're ok with you using their photo and/or name!
Another fitness marketing mistake you could be making is to think that you're marketing to absolutely everyone. Perhaps it could be, but the honest truth is that if you don't specialize, you are shooting yourself in the foot. Who are your favorite clients? Who do you enjoy working with? Who enjoys working with you? That's your market. Find these people, and market to these people and not everybody else. That's just an incredible waste of your time.
Finally, the third fitness marketing tip we'll discuss today is money spent on websites and overall marketing campaign cost. Many people believe that if you have a really fancy, flashy, interactive website that it will deliver you clients. This is a lie. Next, marketing gurus will tell you that the more you spend on a campaign of marketing, the more you will see in return. This is also false. Money well spent is much better than lots of money spent. Be cautious. It's important to realize that people want to know what you are able to do for them above all else. Figure out how to communicate this very single point effectively and you will have clients coming out of your ears.
