If your child feels as if they have outgrown their room's decor, why not design a room that you both can have a part of? It is quite simple to design a room with your child's needs as well as their thought. Make sure you set a budget to teach them that money doesn't grow on trees as well. They'll always remember what mommy taught them at a young age!
Color schemes are a great idea for the child who isn't quite sure what they want. If they aren't into cars or princess they'll be able to design their own room out of colors. Now who doesn't love that? A colored themed room is also a great idea for children whom are younger since their minds grow every day and eventually a few months or years from now they'll want to change it all over again. With a colored themed room you may only need to change a few decor details in the room.
Bed in a bag is a wonderful addition to your child's room. They'll be able to choose the perfect bedding for their newly designed room and feel that they are a big kid now being able to make these choices. Purchase a few extra sheets in a different color and you're set for awhile.
As you know our children always have too many toys and we wonder what to do with them. Have you ever thought about using them as decor in their rooms design? By placing shelves and hooks in the room you'll be able to place a few of their toys out of the toy box and off of the floor to design their walls. Another great idea as well is using their art work which they make daily for some and placing it on as wall art! Keeps the fridge bare as well in the end.
Area rugs are great in children's room since they give that extra comfort when they are playing. Make sure they are soft and they won't get caught up in them or their toys will such as a shag rug. They look beautiful but then again do you want food stuck in them? Try going again with the theme which they chose or the color palette for the rug option. Having them pick this our will give them the confidence that you let them design their room by themselves.
Just these few simple tips will give you great ideas on your child's next room design with their mind and imagination being part of the help.
